‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ box office collection day 1: Ranveer Singh records a dull opening with just Rs 3 crore – Times of India

Despite a star like Ranveer Singh driving the movie, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ has not managed to record a massive opening. This film has earned a spot among this year’s low scorers like Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ which earned Rs 3.19 crore on day one and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Runway 34’ which collected Rs 3.08 crore on its opening day.

On Saturday, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ is expected to show a positive trend and if it happens so then the collection should look up on weekdays too. Directed by Divyang Thakkar, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ is a comedy drama which highlights issues like gender stereotype and female foeticide. Speaking about his journey in films, Ranveer had recently told BT, “I have always wished to be recognised as a versatile actor. The manner in which things have played out and the versatility that I have been able to showcase are now being widely recognised. I hope it continues this way. Like Jayeshbhai Jordaar is a character you haven’t seen me play before and it’s been a fresh challenge for me.”
