Jay-Z meets Bills star Josh Allen postgame after watching them beat Patriots alongside Robert Kraft

Jay-Z meets Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen postgame after watching Super Bowl contenders beat New England Patriots alongside Robert Kraft amid $7bn Washington ownership links

Jay-Z met with Bills quarterback Josh Allen Thursday night after Buffalo’s 24-10 win over the Patriots, with the rap mogul taking in the game with New England owner Robert Kraft earlier in the night.

While Jay-Z’s words to the young quarterback can’t be made out from a video of the short encounter, Allen can be heard saying ‘appreciate it, thank you’ before the pair go their separate ways.

And it wasn’t the only time during the night that the Roc Nation founder brushed shoulders with an NFL figure.

Jay-Z was spotted in Kraft’s suite during the game, and the gathering comes after previous reports of the rapper’s interest in buying the Commanders with Jeff Bezos.

Bezos and the musician were spotted getting dinner together in November after TMZ reported that a joint bid between the 52-year-old Shawn Carter and the 58-year-old Amazon founder was ‘on the table.’

While no sale has happened yet, reports have suggested that embattled owner Daniel Snyder is willing to sell the team (for around $7billion), which would of course open the door for the celebrity pair.

Snyder became owner of the team in 1999 and has seen overseen a litany of problems within the franchise, including allegations of a toxic workplace and sexual harassment.

Snyder also resisted calls to change the team’s name for years, as they were formerly known as the Redskins, which is considered offensive to Native Americans

There is currently a federal probe into allegations of financial malpractice regarding the Commanders. Previously, attorney generals in Virginia and Washington D.C. announced similar probes into claims that Snyder withheld refundable deposits from ticket holders and hid revenue from NFL teams.

Forbes reported last month that the 57-year-old Snyder already has four interested potential buyers, while the team announced he had retained Bank of America to sell the Commanders.

And while it’s unclear what was (or wasn’t discussed) between Jay-Z and Kraft on Thursday, the Patriots owner is a powerful voice in the league and his approval would certainly help the rapper’s chances of acquiring the franchise.

Bezos and Carter both have some experience in the sports world.

The former has already made an imprint on the NFL, with his company buying exclusive streaming rights to Thursday Night Football for $1billion per season.

And Jay-Z formerly owned a minority stake in the Brooklyn Nets, and then founded sports agency Roc Nation sports, which now boasts clients such as LaMelo Ball, Kevin De Bruyne and Saquon Barkley.
