Jasprit Bumrah’s return sparks excitement ahead of India vs Pakistan Asia Cup showdown
Bumrah reunites with team India after welcoming son, bolsters India’s bowling arsenal
Jasprit Bumrah returned to the Indian cricket camp on Friday evening, providing a much-needed boost ahead of the highly-anticipated clash against Pakistan in the 2023 Asia Cup, scheduled for Sunday. His return comes after a brief departure from SriLanka to celebrate the birth of his first son, Angad, with his wife Sanjana Ganesan
According to reports from Cricbuzz, Bumrah is set to rejoin the team for a practice session at the R Premadasa Stadium, the chosen battleground for the Super Four showdown between the arch-rivals. However, due to the looming threat of inclement weather in Colombo, the Indian squad might once again find themselves practicing indoors for the second consecutive day.
Thus far in the Asia Cup, Bumrah has yet to showcase his bowling prowess. The second innings of India’s opening match against Pakistan was cut short by rain, leaving Bumrah on the sidelines. In his absence, the Indian team opted for Mohammed Shami against Nepal, who delivered a commendable performance, conceding just 29 runs in seven overs and securing a crucial wicket late in the first innings by dismissing Sompal Kami.
As the stage is set for the much-anticipated India vs. Pakistan clash, Bumrah’s return injects renewed energy and skill into the Indian bowling lineup, adding to the excitement surrounding the upcoming showdown in this prestigious tournament
