Jalen Carter as Georgia star selected as No. 9 overall pick by Philadelphia Eagles in 2023 NFL Draft
Philadelphia Eagles take a gamble on Jalen Carter as the embattled Georgia star is finally selected as the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, after he was charged for reckless driving in fatal crash
Embattled Georgia star Jalen Carter was finally selected by the Philadelphia Eagles as the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 Draft, almost two months after the defensive tackle was charged for reckless driving.
Carter, 21, entered into a plea bargain after he was booked with reckless driving and racing on March 1 in relation to the car accident that claimed the lives of his teammate Devin Willock and Bulldogs staffer Chandler LeCroy.
Carter was once projected to be a high first-round pick, but had stumbled after an underwhelming pro day and his guilty plea to reckless driving charges.
However, his college football career with Georgia, during which he helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back titles, appears to have been enough for Super Bowl runners up, the Eagles, to take him.
