Jacqueline Fernandez to be questioned by EoW about contradiction in statement – Exclusive – Times of India

Jacqueline Fernandez will be grilled again by the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing for her connection in the alleged 200 crore extortion case linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Last time when Jacqueline was called, she was questioned alongside Pinky Irani, Sukesh’s close aide. Revealing details about today’s questioning, a police source told ETimes, “Jacqueline has been called because the investigating they has found contradiction in statement when the actress was confronted with Pinky Irani. Jacqueline was informed about it by the Eow, asking her appear again for the same.”

Refusing to divulge details about the questioning, a senior police officer had told PTI, “We need to scrutinise certain documents and also question her further in connection with the case.”

Jacqueline Fernandez received a lot of expensive gifts from Sukesh Chandrasekhar. In a charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate, Jacqueline has been named as an accused. Reacting to the same, the actress had filed a plea before the Appellate Authority of PMLA wherein she stated, “The approach of ED, unfortunately, seems to be highly mechanical and motivated. The plea also stated that other celebrities who received gifts from Sukesh were made witnesses while Jacqueline was mentioned as an accused. This clearly shows a malafide, motivated and biased approach on the part of the investigation authority which cannot be ignored.” The Special Commissioner of Police – EOW, Ravinder Yadav had told ANI, “There is more trouble for Jacqueline Fernandez as she did not cut ties with Sukesh Chandrashekhar even after knowing his criminal antecedents. But Nora Fatehi did disconnect herself once she suspected that something is fishy.”
