Jacqueline Fernandez scores a nomination at Oscars 2023, to compete against RRR’s Naatu Naatu for Best Original Song – Times of India

Jacqueline Fernandez may have been going through a tough time but she has now got a reason to rejoice. Her film Tell it Like a Woman has bagged a nomination in the Best Original Song category at the Oscars 2023. The song is called Applause by Diane Warren and it will compete against RRR’s Naatu Naatu track in the same category.
The actress took to Instagram to share the update with her fans about the Oscar nomination and wrote, “Beyond words right now ???? Congratulations to @dianewarren @sofiacarson for the Oscar nomination for ‘Applause’ and making us all proud! It was an honour to be associated with this beautiful film ‘Tell it like a woman’ alongside such esteemed artists! Thank you.”

She further added, “Also big congratulations to Team RRR for Naatu Naatu nomination!!! My best wishes and love to the entire team and all the nominees.” Songs such as Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once will also be competing with Applause and Naatu Naatu tracks for the Best Original Song award.

Tell It All Like A Woman is an anthology film, which tells seven different empowering and inspirational stories of women. The Indian segment in the film has been directed Leena Yadav. Apart from Jacqueline, the movie also features Eva Longoria, Cara Delevigne, Marcia Gay Harden, and Jennifer Hudson.

The Oscar nomination will surely give Jacqueline a ray of hope amid her negative press. Her association with conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar has put her in bad light among her fans and people are in disbelief for her alleged romantic relationship with the conman.

Jacqueline was last seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu and Rohit Shetty’s multi-starrer film Cirkus. Both the films failed to impress the audience and eventually tanked at the box office.
