Jack Ross admits Hibs’ current troubles ‘falls on his shoulders’

JACK ROSS admits Hibernian’s current troubles will ‘fall on his shoulders’ as long as his players continue to give their all during games.

The Easter Road side allowed a lead to slip away at the weekend when they drew 1-1 at home to Motherwell.

It left them with just one win from their last eight league games and in seventh place in the Premiership ahead of Wednesday night’s trip to face Livingston.

But ‘hurting’ Ross is adamant his team’s performances have deserved better and he is convinced his squad is not short on effort and application.

He is confident if the Premier Sports Cup finalists maintain belief in what they are trying to do then things will come good.

He said: “When you manage or you play on the pitch, people shouldn’t underestimate how much it means to win games, and the determination to do so.

“So, when you don’t, particularly when you feel as if you should do, then it hurts.

“The players are going through a difficult spell at the moment.

“But the level of application and effort, their willingness to do things right, for me, is not a concern because they’re doing that.

“If it does’t end up in a positive result then that falls upon my shoulders all the time.

“But they are giving me absolutely everything at the moment, in terms of trying to win games, and they did that again [on Saturday].

“They’ve just got to retain that trust that if we do that again on Wednesday, and create the same amount of opportunities, then we’ve got the players in the squad who absolutely will take them and we’ll go on to win games again.”
