I’ve Worn Over 30 Outfits in September So Far—These 6 Were Winners
This New York Fashion Week was my rookie season, or in other words, my first New York Fashion Week as an editor at Who What Wear. Prior to being an editor, I would rely on the kindness of my friends in the industry who were further along in their careers to bring me to events as a plus-one. I would work backstage of shows helping dress models and try to RSVP/wait in line for some of my favorite designers’ after-parties, hoping I could somehow sneak my way in. But this season, many of my fashion week dreams came true. I went to several shows and events with an invite that had my name on it—pinch me.
As a fashion girl who has always wanted to work in editorial fashion and spent most of my time in fashion school preparing for this moment, you can bet I was taking my outfit planning very seriously. I wanted to have fun with my looks and express my personality, which is what I always try to do when I style myself, but especially for fashion week. I knew this was the time to bring my A-game. During the week, I would change into a new look whenever I had the time. There were days that I wore three to four outfits. What can I say? If there’s an opportunity for a fashion moment, I tend to take it. With that said, there were six looks that I was absolutely obsessed with, and if I say so myself, I think I did pretty well for my first time attending fashion week as an editor.
