ISL: Jamshedpur win 5-goal thriller against NorthEast United in dying moments | Football News – Times of India

Deshorn Brown hit a brace to follow up on his treble in the last tie, but Jamshedpur FC pocketed the much-needed victory and the three points as they put up an attacking show to beat NorthEast United 3-2 in their Indian Super League encounter in Bambolim, Goa on Thursday.
Greg Stewart was all pervasive, Jordan Murray got back to scoring ways and the young Indian winger Boris Singh deservedly found his name on the scoresheet. But it was super-sub Ishan Pandita who found the net in the 95th minute of the tie to take Jamshedpur to the third spot on the table with 16 points from 10 matches.

Khalid Jamil’s side could not move out of the 10th spot with their eight points and rued the close loss at GMC Athletic Stadium.
Hat-trick hero Brown was back in business from the word go. The Jamaican ran his way at the right place to receive a perfect ball from VP Suhair early in the 4th minute and charged inside the box as Peter Hartley failed to keep up with his pace and he shot it past the keeper into the far post.
But the bit-shaken Jamshedpur came back strongly into the match and could have scored in the 14th minute if Murray could connect to a cross from Stewart inside the box. While keeping up the pressure, the Owen Coyle-coached side again failed to convert on a mix-up in the box between the NEUFC defenders soon after.
The equaliser came right after a brilliant save from northeast keeper Mirshad Michu off a Stewart one-on-one shot. The NEUFC defenders scrambled to clear the ball coming off the hands of Michu and gift Jamshedpur a free-kick for a foul on Boris. This time, Murray did not fail to connect his head to a swerving Stewart cross and guided the ball into the net off the back of his head in the 44th minute.
The teams were level at the change of ends but Jamshedpur looked resolved to find the lead. While Michu produced another good save, Stewart shot one just wide of target.
But they were successful in the 56th minute when Seiminlen Doungel made a run down the right for a pass to Murray, who instead of taking a shot, cut it back. The ball fell to Boris, who had led to the opening strike, and the winger slotted it into an open goal.
With Jamshedpur failing to kill off the game despite good build-ups, the chance fell on Brown to increase his tally as he beat Hartley and goalkeeper Pawan Kumar to get NEUFC back on level terms a minute into second-half added time. But it was shortlived as Pandita pounced on the defensive lapse of the opposition to receive a cross in front of the goal and shot it past a hapless Michu in the dying moments to snatch full points.
