Ishitta Arun feels Bollywood has ‘underutilised’ her mother Ila Arun’s talent: ‘She always played a prostitute, servant, or weaver’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Ila Arun‘s daughter Ishitta Arun recently opened up about how she feels Bollywood has been unfair to her mother and has underutilised her talent.
In an interview with a news portal, Ishitta shared that her mother has not got her due in the industry. According to her, Ila is an excellent writer and has a strong command of Hindi and Urdu. She is responsible for her fluency in languages. She also pointed out how the veteran actress has always played a prostitute, servant, or weaver and never ever played the game.

Further, Ishitta claimed that people in the industry judged Ila for her physical appearance. In the late 80s and 90s, she was into folk music and avoided being a part of any lobby. Because of that she got limited roles.

However, now with the advent of OTT, she has started getting good roles. Ishitta revealed that Ila is doing one film after the other. Ishitta also went on to urge filmmakers to bring good work to her mother while she is active and not make memorials after she is dead.
Ishitta was recently seen in Hansal Mehta‘s ‘Scoop‘. Ila will be seen in the third season of Sushmita Sen’s ‘Aarya’, helmed by Ram Madhvani.
