Is Sachin Pilot floating his own party? As rumours swirl, Congress says…

The standoff between Congress leader Sachin Pilot and other members of the Rajasthan government continued unabated on Friday. Rumours have swirled about the possible formation of a new politicial party helmed by Pilot – to be launched on his father’s death anniversary. The Congress however has vehemently rubbished the claims, insisting that all party leaders would fight the upcoming assembly elections unitedly.

News reports quoting sources close to Pilot said there has not been much forward movement on his demands. The former deputy CM reportedly wants resolution of the issues that he has raised, especially his demand that the Ashok Gehlot government takes action against alleged corruption during the previous BJP regime.

Pilot has also demanded the reconstitution of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and fresh appointments. He has sought compensation for those affected by the cancellation of government recruitment exams following paper leaks.

Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal said he is in touch with the former Rajasthan deputy chief minister and asserted that the party is united and will contest the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan together.
