Irrfan Khan’s wife Sutapa Sikdar reveals both her sons Babil and Ayaan were diagnosed with anxiety and depression after the actor’s death – Times of India

It’s been close to three years since Irrfan Khan left for his heavenly abode. The late actor was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in March 2018 and died on April 29 2020 at the age of 53. His wife Sutapa Sikdar has now revealed that both her sons Babil and Ayaan were diagnosed with anxiety and depression after the passing of their beloved father.

In her new interview, Sutapa said that Irrfan’s death had deeply impacted her sons and recalled her struggle of trying to make them feel good in that tricky situation. Since the two were boys and not girls, Sutapa couldn’t figure out what to say to them. She tried her best not to make her sons feel their father’s absence too much.

On the occasion of Irrfan’s birth anniversary on January 7, Sutapa also spoke to Bollywood Bubble about how the late actor was a great friend more than a father to their sons. She said that unlike any other father figure she has encountered in her life, Sutapa said that she has never seen a father like Irrfan.

She further added that Irrfan was Babil’s friend and that’s why her son misses his father so much. He was wise and would never restrict Babil or do things in a certain way. He would not say to Babil not to have a girlfriend or stop him from doing anything. She said that he would remind him not to forget his core values while doing everything he wishes to do in life.

While Ayaan is a teenage, Babil has recently made his Bollywood debut with OTT movie Qala, which also stars Triptii Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, Amit Sial, Neer Raao, Avinash Raj Sharma, Ashish Singhmore among others. The movie has been directed by Anvitaa Dutt.
