Naked dresses have been few and far between at Cannes this year, but one attendee has taken the daring trend to the next level. After rocking a body-flossing Mowalola look on the red carpet – picked from the designer’s fall 2023 collection – Irina Shayk attended British Vogue’s party at the Hotel Martinez, hosted in partnership with Chopard, wearing an extreme take on naked dressing.
The supermodel stood out from the crowd in a completely sheer dress, with her monogrammed Gucci lingerie (comprising a triangle bra and a thong) fully visible beneath a tailored blazer. For maximum drama, she added a crystalized choker and matching earrings, and wore a matte red lip. During the night, she removed her blazer to reveal sheer opera gloves, which matched the sheer stockings she wore underneath her black strappy sandals.
See-through dresses have become something of a signature for Shayk. On the Croisette, she cut through the voluminous dresses and embellishments in an all-leather look. “I always look out for young designers, and Mowalola’s last show caught my eye,” she told Vogue. “I knew I wanted to wear and support a female designer in Cannes, and I thought this look would be the perfect fit – it felt special.”
