IPL 2023 RCB vs RR: Parnell, Maxwell lead Challengers thrash Royals by 112 runs
Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday mowed down Rajasthan Royals in most interesting and entertaining match of the Indian Premier League at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
RCB not only won by 112 runs, but took all the wickets of Royals within a span of 10.3 overs, where they could score just 59 runs.
RCB Innings:
After winning the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis opted to bat against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.
Opening for RCB, Virat Kohli’s magic did not work today and her was dismissed by KM Asif in the 7th over after scoring 18 runs in 19 balls.
Following this, skipper Faf du Plessis (55) and Glenn Maxwell (54) set a good partnership for the squad. But Plessis was dismissed by Asif in the 15th over and Maxwell was departed by Sandeep Sharma in the 18th over.
Mahipal Lomror (1) and Dinesh Karthik (0) were too dismissed soon. By the end of 20 overs, RCB manahed to put 171 runs in 20 overs after losing 5 wickets.
For RR, Adam Zampa and KM Asif took two wickets, while Sandeep Sharma picked one wicket.
Rajasthan Royals Inninds:
Chasing a target of 172 runs, Royals batting order collapsed from the very beginning as its openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (0) and Jos Buttler (0) were sent back by Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell in the first and second over.
Skipper Sanju Samson (4)too couldn’t impress and was dismissed in the second over by Parnell. Joe Root (10) followed the suit and departed by Wayne Parnell in the 6th over.
Though Shimron Hetmyer tried controling the game, but was dismissed in the 10 over. He is the only player in RR today to cross 30 runs.
After this the RR batting fell like pack opf cards and by 10.2 overs, all RR payers had walked back to pavilion. RR managed to score on 59 runs and lost all of its wickets.
RCB Bowling: Wayne Parnell took three wickets, Karn Sharma and Michael Bracewel picked two, while Mohammed Siraj picked one respectively.
With this, RCB has inched closer to the playoffs with 6 wins and 6 loses and is currently at 5th spot. On the other side, RR slipped in its rankings and is placed at number 6 with 6 wins and 7 loses.
