IPL 2021: Virat Kohli, Dan Christian and Devdutt Padikkal – three wickets in two overs for Moises Henriques

Moises Henriques made sure to help his Punjab Kings (PBKS) side as he sent back Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) top order – Virat Kohli, Dan Christian and Devdutt Padikkal in just two overs.

In his first over, he first bowled RCB skipper Virat Kohli (25) as Henriques’ ball went the perfect length and the perfect cutter for this pitch. The ball stayed low, sneaking under Kohli and knocked out off-stump.

He then got a wicket on his very next ball, and that was of Daniel Christian. The batter was promoted up the order but it seemed to have backfired. Christian got a full one outside off, and he threw his hands out to slice, only for backward point to dive low in the front and pouch a sharp one. The RCB batter had to depart as soon as he came to the crease.

As for his third wicket, Henriques came back again and then got dangerman Padikkal out. It was on a length, going across off with Padikkal slapping hard. However, it was too hard in fact as the ball stuck in the pitch a touch extra, kissing the toe-end through to the keeper. Rahul took a perfect catch behind the stumps and the umpire gave it onfield out.

As for the clash, RCB lost three wickets after they won the toss and opted to bat first. While Virat Kohli makes no changes to his squad, KL Rahul makes three changes – Fabian is injured, so Harpreet comes in for him. Sarfaraz Khan comes in for Hooda and so does Moises Henriques for Ellis.
