IPL 2021: Sanjana Ganesan and Jasprit Bumrah enjoy quarantine by the ocean in UAE

After the cancellation of the fifth and final Test in Manchester between India and England, the Indian team left for the UAE to be part of their respective franchises for Phase 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

However, after landing in the UAE, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants every player coming from the UK to undergo six days of hard quarantine before they can join the existing team bubble.

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj will be in BCCI’s eyes before the start of the tournament as per a report in Insidesport.

While all players are now again back into quarantine, Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Jasprit Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan, who landed in Dubai on Saturday (September 11), were seen enjoying their time.

Sanjana, who will also be resuming her duties of hosting with broadcasters Star Sports in UAE, posted a couple of beautiful pictures from their hotel room.

The official website of MI had released a statement, which read, “Mumbai Indians flew in three of its Indian contingent members, captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav, to Abu Dhabi on a private charter flight.

“The trio, along with their families, arrived today morning and will now undergo 6 days hard quarantine, starting today as per the IPL’s guidelines. All members had returned negative RT PCR results before departure. A new RT PCR test was undertaken upon arrival at Abu Dhabi, which came out negative as well,” it further added.

The franchise also shared some pictures of its official Twitter handle.

As for the 13th season of the IPL, it will see defending champions MI will take on MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings with the first game in Dubai on Sunday. The cash-rich tournament was postponed in May this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially after the virus entered the IPL bio-bubble.
