The victory helped RR announce their arrival for the 4th spot in IPL 2021 Points Table. Now they share equal points (10) with KKR, MI and PBKS. All these teams now require to win all their games to qualify for the playoffs. Net run-rate (NRR) is going to play a huge role in the last few matches.

IPL 2021 Playoffs Race: Check what MI, CSK, DC, RCB, RR, KKR, SRH, PBKS need to qualify for IPL 2021 Playoffs
Chennai Super Kings – Through to Playoffs: After a disastrous outing in IPL 2020, CSK has become the 1st team to qualify for Playoffs. Despite losing to Rajasthan Royals, CSK is still on top of IPL Points Table. This is the record 11th time that CSK has entered the semifinals or IPL Playoffs.
Delhi Capitals (DC) – Through to IPL Playoffs: Delhi Capitals has beaten Mumbai Indians to keep them in the hunt for a top-two spot in IPL 2021 Points Table. DC has already qualified for the playoffs now has 18 points from 12 matches. As the IPL 2021 Points Table suggest, Rishabh Pant led Delhi Capitals is at the No. 2 spot behind CSK.
Royal Challengers Bangalore – Win 1 out of 3 remaining games: Virat Kohli’s RCB is all but through to the Qualifications. Kohli’s team now has 14 points from 11 matches with 7 victories and is comfortably placed at No. 3 in IPL Points Table. Victory in 1 of the 3 remaining matches will be enough for Kohli’s team to enter IPL Playoffs but they would like to do the same in style.
Kolkata Knight Riders – 2 victories of 2 matches: The defeat to PBKS has made the qualification task very challenging for KKR. Eoin Morgan’s side now needs not only victories in both remaining matches – but would also hope that PBKS, RR, MI doesn’t win their remaining matches. The good part is they have better Net Run Rate than rest of the 3 teams in contention for 4th Qualification spot.
In the remaining matches, KKR have to lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) – KKR plays SRH at 7.30 PM on Sunday.
Punjab Kings – 2 Victories of 2 Remaining Matches: The perennial under-achievers of IPL, Punjab Kings is at No. 5 position in the IPL Points Table. They have 10 points from 12 matches & playoff spot is once again in the sight.
What they need to Qualify –
- Win both remaining matches
- Would need KKR, MI, RR to lose a minimum 1 games each if PBKS has to qualify
In the remaining matches, PBKS will face: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) – RCB plays PBKS at 3.30 PM on Sunday
Rajasthan Royals – 2 Wins in 2 Matches: RR are back in the hunt after defeating MS Dhoni’s CSK. Now they need victories in both remaining matches & would hope others lose to make it to the playoffs, subject to NRR. They have matches lined up against Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Mumbai Indians – Win 2 out of 2 Games: The gap between the defending champion Mumbai Indians & the playoff spot has increased now. After defeat to Delhi Capitals, now things are not in MI hands anymore.
- They have to win both matches without any doubt now
- That too would not assure their place in IPL Playoffs
- Now they will be dependent on the results of PBKS, KKR, RR and those results will determine whether MI qualifies or exit from the tournament.
MI has to face Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the remaining matches.
