IPL 2021: Ahead of Eliminator against KKR, RCB releases Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, here’s why
As Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is all set to play the Eliminator against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday (October 11) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the franchise has released Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera from their bio bubble.
The duo, who were taken into the squad after their performance against the Indian side in the series against Sri Lanka, will be joining their home side squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup qualifiers.
The RCB took to Twitter to announce the release and also wished both these players ahead of the Qualifiers. The side also thanked them for their professionalism and hard work during the tournament.
“Wanindu Hasaranga & Dushmantha Chameera have been released from the RCB bio bubble as they join up with the SL team for their WorldT20 qualifiers. We wish both of them the best & thank them for their professionalism & hard work during IPL 2021,” tweeted the official handle of the RCB franchise.

RCB has produced a sensational performance during their league stages and finished 3rd on the IPL points table winning 9 out of their 14 matches.
As for Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera, the two could not make an impact in IPL 2021. While Hasaranga played just 2 matches in the UAE leg, Chameera did not play even a single match in the entire tournament.
The two players will be seen in action for Sri Lanka, with their home side will play their first Qualifier match of the 2021 T20 World Cup on October 18 against Namibia.
