Inter Milan are ‘pushing to sign Trevoh Chalobah before Mauricio Pochettino arrives at Chelsea’
Inter Milan are ‘pushing to sign Trevoh Chalobah for £25m before Mauricio Pochettino arrives at Chelsea’… despite the defender stating he wants to ‘stay at the club and fight for his place in the team’
- Trevoh Chalobah wants to fight for his spot under new boss Mauricio Pochettino
- Inter Milan are looking to push a deal over the line before the manager arrives
- Chalobah needs more pitch time to be in with a chance of playing for England
Trevoh Chalobah wants to stay and fight for his place in the Chelsea squad under Mauricio Pochettino, but Inter Milan are looking to push a deal over the line before the Argentine manager arrives.
Chalobah agreed a six-year contract extension at Chelsea in November 2022 after forcing his way into the Premier League side under their former manager Graham Potter.
However, Chalobah struggled for pitch time prior to the arrival of Chelsea’s caretaker manager Frank Lampard and will be looking to cement a regular place in the squad under Pochettino.
Although, Inter Milan are said to be stepping up their efforts to sign the 23-year-old defender before the Argentine manager arrives at Stamford Bridge, according to the Evening Standard.
Chelsea are reportedly valuing Chalobah at around £25million and Inter are said to be willing to match the club’s asking price to secure his services ahead of the 2023-2024 campaign.

Chalobah is looking to secure a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 campaign.
Therefore, he recognises the need for regular first-XI football.
However, he is hoping to work his way into Pochettino’s squad and play regularly at Chelsea after featuring 34 times for the Blues in all competitions during the 2022-2023 season.
Chalobah has not yet been called up to the Three Lions squad but Inter Milan believe they can help get the defender there.

They feel the opportunity to play in the Champions League could help his case.
Additionally, Chalobah’s arrival in Italy could help strengthen Inter Milan’s backline given Matteo Darmian (33) and Francesco Acerbi (35) are in the latter stages of their careers.
Inter view Chalobah – who has spent time out on loan at Ipswich, Huddersfield and French club Lorient – as a young and energetic defender that will make their backline more dynamic.
This is not the first time Inter have registered an interest in Chalobah. They tried to secure his services on loan last summer but the Blues denied them the opportunity.
