Instagram Take a Break Feature: Instagram wants you to ‘take a break’ from using the app | – Times of India
In a video posted by Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, the photo-sharing app revealed that it is testing a new feature that will give users the choice to take a break. Mosseri said, “What we’re starting to test this week on Instagram is one that I’m actually personally very excited about. It’s called “Take a Break,” and it does what you think it does.”
The feature, Mosseri explained, is an optional one and it encourages you take a break “from Instagram after you’ve spent a certain amount of time on the app — 10, 20, 30 minutes.”
Mosseri said that Instagram has worked with third-party experts and take advice on what tips to give users and how to allow them to take a break from the app. gotten advice on what tips there should be and how to frame taking a break. The “Time for a break?” prompt encourages users to “take a moment to reset by closing Instagram,” said Mosseri.
Users will see options like — take a few deep breaths; write down what you’re thinking; listen to your favourite song; and do something on your to-do list. The idea is to keep the phone down, take a break from Instagram and stop the endless scrolling.
The feature is in the testing phase right now and starting this week it will be rolled out to select users. Mosseri said that Instagram is planning to launch the feature for everyone in December this year.
