Instagram may make it easier for you to make Reels – Times of India

Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature called Templates, that will make it easier for users to make Reels. As per a report by Business Insider, the Facebook owned platform is working on a feature that will allow you to borrow formats from other short videos. The feature will be quite similar to the template tool offered by TikTok that allows users to share premade sequences of their content.
The template feature in Instagram Reels was first spotted in January by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi and marketing manager Josephine Hill has shared the screenshot of how the feature looks like. As per Hill’s tweet, the feature will allow users to add their images or videos into preset frames. The screenshot also suggests that the feature will allow users to add their own audio. The feature will significantly reduce the time it takes to create a Reel, especially when it comes to trending videos.
According to a statement provided to Business Insider, Instagram revealed “We are testing the ability for you to make a reel using an existing Template from another reel.” The company has also revealed that it is currently testing the feature with a small group of users.
Instagram now also allows users to remix any public video on its platform. You can remix a video and also be there yourself in the new video. Then you can post the new video on your profile. Tapping the remix video/Reel option will turn on your camera. The original video you want to remix will be shown on the left side of the screen. You can also make changes to the audio in the Reel and turn the volume up or down as well. Voiceovers can also be added.
