Instagram is killing this feature in Stories – Times of India
Users who post Instagram Stories can add links to them and viewers can simply swipe up while watching the story to access the link. App researcher, Jane Manchun Wong has tweeted the screenshots revealing that Instagram will be removing these swipe up links feature from August 30. On the other hand, YouTuber Sam Sheffer also posted a screenshot of the message that is being received by some Instagram users. The notification reads, “Starting August 30, swipe up links will go away. To add a link to your story, use the new link sticker.”

With the introduction of this new ‘link sticker’ option, it appears that users will be able to put out the stickers that have links embedded anywhere in the story. Users will also be able to select from a range of stickers as well.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Instagram has started testing a new feature that will put ads on its Shop tab. Instagram introduced the Shops tab last year as part of its efforts to expand into the e-commerce space.
According to a report by TechCrunch, the new advertising feature will include ads that will either involve a single image or a carousel of them. Initially, only some of the advertisers will have access to it first, but the company will slowly expand the feature.
