Inside Michaela Coel’s All-Nighter Met Gala After-Party, Which Drew the Likes of Naomi Campell, Devon Aoki, and More
As one of this year’s Met Gala co-chairs, Michaela Coel took her unwritten duty to throw a sensational after-party very seriously. And, yes, everyone will still be talking about it until next May rolls around because this was one for the books.
The Ghanaian-British actor-writer-director and Vogue cover star drew her exclusive guest list to the Lower East Side. Hosted at Loosie’s, the dazzling downtown venue set the upbeat tone for the evening with an impressive lineup of musical talent, including Major League DJz, Uncle Waffles Skyla Tylaa, and DJ Neptizzle.
Following her custom “Dripping in Gold” look by Daniel Roseberry, Coel switched into a second Schiaparelli look—a black and gold leotard paired with an oversized blazer—for her after-party. This cheeky getup was dressed up with signature Schiaparelli accessories galore and fit the bill perfectly for a night dedicated to dancing until dawn. Of course, Coel was spotted with close friend and supermodel Naomi Campbell in a cozy corner before she took over the bar to pour shots for her glittering crowd.
Champagne floated throughout the club while guests like Vogue’s Edward Enninful, Chance the Rapper, Jeremy Scott, Devon Aoki, Whitney Peak, Burna Boy, Adesuwa Aighewi, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Ivy Getty, Aurora James, Sarah Hoover, and GQ’s Will Welch were celebrating under the disco balls until the early hours of the morning.
Before everyone bid the night adieu, Coel offered a kind toast to her guests in honor of Karl Lagerfeld. The night’s eternal energy and spirit embodied that of the design legend himself.
