While many things change for each year’s Met Gala, some things stay the same. This year one of those things was La La Anthony as cohost of the event’s live stream—a duty she’s honored to take on again. So what does one wear to help preside over fashion’s biggest night?
“My inspiration behind the look was ’90s Chanel supermodel, and I wanted to partner with Sergio Hudson,” Anthony tells Vogue. “I think he did an incredible job of bringing that vision to life, for sure.” On Monday night the star donned a crisp white one-shoulder gown from the designer, accessorized with draped gold body chains, an arm cuff, and pearl-adorned cat-eye sunglasses.

Glam furthered the retro supermodel vibes. “We went for a classic ’90s vibe, keeping it more matte with a lot of definition on the eyes,” says makeup artist Rokael, who emphasized that the look should complement rather than overpower the simplicity of her ensemble. The pro leaned into ombré finishes, gentle bronze, and a subtle smoky eye. And because Anthony’s hosting duties meant staying done up for almost 24 hours while working among hot lights and cameras, the look needed to stay in place.
