During the optional practice session, several key players including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur were absent and did not participate in the practice. While Rohit Sharma, KS Bharat, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav attended the practice session.
However, Rohit encountered an incident where he was struck on his left thumb while batting, leading to him receiving a bandage for the injury. Initially, he continued practicing despite the incident, but eventually, he decided to discontinue. Later on, Rohit Sharma removed the bandage from his thumb.
The WTC 2023 final will begin at 3 pm IST from June 7 till June 11 at the Oval, London, a reserve day is also in place if the weather intervenes to spoil the sport.
