Infosys launches digital skilling programme Springboard

on Thursday announced the launch of Springboard, a digital skilling programme aimed at everyone from Std VI students to professionals as it looks to reach its goal of reskilling more than 10 million people by 2025.

Springboard is part of Infosys’ environment, social and governance (ESG) goals. Powered by the company’s education technology platform Wingspan, it offers a set of courses developed in collaboration with Coursera and Learnship. It includes programming challenges and practice areas, apart from vocational and soft skills training.

It will also allow learners to assess themselves and be certified through examinations. Springboard already has 400,000 learners, and more than 300 educational institutions, NGOs and self-help groups use the platform.

The company said Springboard allows learners to prepare for emerging jobs and careers and helps working professionals pick up advanced digital skills. It also helps teachers collaborate better and allows NGOs to impart learning to underserved sections of society. The service is available as an app on Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

“Students and educators need digital curricula and platforms that are more than just hand-me-downs from corporates to truly serve their needs,” said Thirumala Arohi, senior vice president at Infosys.

“Parents and guardians, on the other hand, need the assurance that the learning prepares their wards adequately for the future. NGOs and support groups need to extend this to all strata of our society,” Arohi added.
