Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the country’s goods exports have now crossed 415 billion US dollar. Replying to supplementaries in the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Mr. Goyal said, the government is committed to increase it further. He said, India has recently achieved the highest-ever goods exports target of 400 billion US dollar during the financial year 2021-22. He added, the country achieved this target nine days before the end of the fiscal year. This shows 37 per cent jump over the previous fiscal of 2020-21 in which the exports stood at 292 billion US dollar.

Replying to another query, the Minister said, the government has disbursed one lakh 70 thousand crore rupees to the farmers on procurement of food grains during the financial year 2020-21. He said, this is double than the amount of 85 thousand crore rupees disbursed during 2016-17. He also said, the government is committed to the welfare of farmers and it is disbursing the amount directly to their bank accounts through direct benefit transfer without any delay. He informed the members that if any instance of delay in payment come to the notice, then the government immediately send team to the areas to resolve the issue.
