Indian team clinches Gold in mixed team compound archery event at FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China

The Indian team of Aman Saini and Pragati today clinched gold in the mixed team compound archery event at the FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China. Saini and Pragati beat the duo of Cho Sua and Park Seunghyun from South Korea 157-156.

 

Pragati also won a silver medal with Avneet Kaur, Purvasha in women’s team Compound archery event. Vijayveer Sidhu, Udhayveer Sidhu and Adarsh Singh clinched another silver for the country in Men’s 25m pistol rapid fire team event. 

With this, India have, so far, won nine medals which include four gold, two silver and three bronze, at the University Games. India are currently fourth in the medals table. India have already eclipsed their previous best performance at the University Games, which saw the country’s athletes win five medals – one gold, one silver and three bronze – at Gwangju 2015.

India have been part of the University Games since the inaugural edition in 1959.
