Indian boxer Sumit has advanced to the semifinals, ensuring a bronze medal for the country at the Elorda Cup 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan. He defeated Kazakhstan’s Bekzat Tangatar in the 86kg category quarterfinals.In the 51kg pre-quarterfinal bout, Zoram Muana displayed his prowess to emerge victorious in 4-1 split verdict against Daryan Kulzhabayev of Kazakhstan.

Four Indian boxers will compete in their respective quarterfinal bouts today. Pukharam Kishan Singh (54kg) will square off against Daulet Moldashev of Kazakhstan, while Ashish Kumar (57kg) will face Sukthet Sarawut of Thailand. Hemant Yadav (71kg) is set to go head-to-head against Talgat Shaikenov of Kazakhstan in what promises to be an exciting contest.

In the women’s category, Shiksha (54kg) is preparing for her last-eight bout against Zhaina Shekerbekova of Kazakhstan, ready to showcase her skills and determination in the ring.
