India vs South Africa 2021: Watch Indian players’ photoshoot before 1st Test
Preparations have already begun both on and off the field, as Team India gear up to clash with South Africa at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Sunday. The BCCI on Wednesday dropped a fun video from the official photoshoot, ahead of the first meeting between the two sides.
In the 56 second long video, Indian players can be seen donning their famous white-test kit, as they pose and get clicked by the photographer. It can be also seen that the photographer is completely covered inside a PPE kit, showcasing that Cricket South Africa are indeed taking all the necessary measures in order to curb the spread of the deadly Omicron variant of Covid-19.
“Team Headshots done. Just a few sleeps away from the first Test. We cannot wait,” wrote the BCCI as the caption, accompanying the video.

Skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy for the current test series KL Rahul were the first two players to get their photos clicked. Rahul was promoted as vice-captain for the Test series versus South Africa after Rohit Sharma sustained a hamstring injury while training.
Later, the likes of Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari were all smiles as they got snapped.
Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara, all-rounder Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj then had their chance, before we see Mayank Agarwal shadow batting during his turn to get clicked.
Last but not the least, towards the end of the clip, we can see Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Rohit Sharma’s replacement Priyank Panchal smile and pose for the camera.
After their Test assignment, the Indian team will also play a three-match ODI series versus the Proteas beginning from January 19.
