India vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test: Virat Kohli gifts ‘special souvenir’ to Mehidy Hasan | Cricket News – Times of India

India clawed back to win the second Test against Bangladesh by just three wickets on day four at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday, leaving Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s five-wicket haul futile. But Virat Kohli’s gesture after the match made it memorable for Hasan.
Off-spinner Mehidy registered figures of 5/63 as Bangladesh tried valiantly to prevent India from chasing 145 to win, but the visitors fought back through Ravichandran Ashwin (42*) and Shreyas Iyer (29*) to win and sweep the series 2-0.
The duo bailed India out with an unbeaten 71-run stand from a precarious 74 for 7.
After the match, Kohli gifted his jersey to Mehidy, who then shared his joy with a picture on social media.
“Special souvenir from one of the greatest cricketer Virat Kohli,” Mehidy captioned the image he posted on Twitter.

Among Mehidy’s five-wicket haul in India’s second innings was the wicket of Kohli as well. The Bangladesh players celebrated the dismissal jubilantly but some of the words directed at Kohli angered the former India skipper.
But in a show of true sportsmanship, Kohli buried the hatchet by gifting a souvenir to Mehidy.
