Suhas Yathiraj will also be vying for a gold medal on the final day of the Tokyo Paralympics, as he takes on France’s Lucas Mazur in the SL4 final. The first civil servant from the country to represent India in the Tokyo Paralympics, Yathiraj defeated Indonesia’s Fredy Setiawan 21-9, 21-15 to seal the match in just 31 minutes. Suhas will aim to clinch gold and take revenge against Lucas Mazur, who knocked out Tarun Dhillon in the semi-final on Saturday.

Tarun Dhillon will aim to add to India’s medal tally when he faces off against Indonesia’s Fredy Setiawan on Sunday. Dhillion lost to Lucas Mazur in straight sets in his semi-final clash, but still has the chance to seal the Paralympics glory, and will aim to do so when he takes the court. Should he win, India would be guaranteed a double podium spot in the same event, with Yathiraj having progressed to the final beating Setiawan.

Krishna Nagar is assured of a medal finish at the Tokyo Paralympics, and the Indian shuttler will aim to bag the gold medal in his final on Sunday. Arriving as the second seed in his category, Nagar defeated Great Britain’s Krystan Coombs 21-10, 21-11 in the semi-final to assure himself of at least a silver medal in his maiden Paralympics campaign. Nagar is the third Indian shuttler to make it to the final of the 2020 Paralympics, following Suhas Tahiraj and Pramod Bhagat.

Avani Lekhara has the rare opportunity to seal a Paralympics hat-trick when she along with Deepak Saini and Sidhartha Babu will line up for the mixed 50m rifle prone SH 1 qualification on Sunday. Lekhara has already won two medals so far in Tokyo and could add a third on Sunday if she manages to reach the finals. The trio had earlier failed to qualify for the finals of the R3 Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH1, but will hope to bounce back with a podium finish.
