The Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team for the first time in the capacity of full-time captain in an ODI as the Men in Blue take on West Indies in the first ODI of the three-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This is also the 1000th ODI for India as a team. 

West Indian pace bowler Alzarri Joseph struck twice in the 14th over and removed two of India’s most experienced batters in skipper Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli. While Sharma got out Leg Before Wicket on the very first ball, he removed Kohli off the fifth ball of his over, getting him caught at deep fine leg of a short ball. 

India started thier chase of 177 in a brilliant manner as the opening pair of Rohit and Ishan Kishan added 84 for the first wicket with Rohit reaching his 44th ODI fifty on the way.
