In Miami, Dolce & Gabbana Fetes its Latest Lemon-Filled Collection for Mytheresa
It’s been a minute since Domenico Dolce was in Miami; but it made sense that last night’s cocktail party was the reason for his return. Hosted on a Mediterranean-style waterfront property on Miami Beach’s Biscayne Bay, the event celebrated Dolce & Gabbana’s latest capsule collection, available exclusively at Mytheresa on May 4.
For the occasion, Mytheresa’s CEO Michael Kliger had flown in fresh from Germany to host the dreamy event, which lured the likes of Alfonso Dolce, NBA star P.J. Tucker (stylish in a bedazzled Dolce shirt) Dree Hemingway, Athena Calderone, Violetta Komyshan, Heather Kaminetsky, and more. All the ladies were dressed in the latest collection, which is fully splashed in a quintessentially Dolce lemon print. Nary a guest didn’t have a lemon on their person in some shape or form—even if it was a wedge in their cocktails.
Arriving at the impressive property, guests were greeted with a water fountain dressed with florals. As they moved to the back of the house, views of Biscayne Bay (and several yachts) revealed themselves. The romantic scene was made even more atmospheric by key additions like the lemons brought in to decorate a pergola and incredible pizza and pasta stations filled with artful displays of produce and aperitif snacks. It wasn’t Italy, but you could be fooled. There was a granita station in an ice cream cart painted in, you guessed it, a lemon print. And elsewhere in Miami, two other locations received the Dolce & Gabbana x Mytheresa treatment; The Bath Club Miami Beach and The Standard Hotel are both seriving as pop-ups for the exclusive collection.
After sunset, the pool glowed and partygoers encircled it, taking turns posing for photos and nibbling on Sicilian-style pizza. New mom Caroline Vreeland mingled with mom-to-be Jelena Cikoja; Tucker held court with his crew in a corner, and absolutely everybody wanted to say ciao to Mr. Dolce. Wearing a black jacket garnished with a brooch, the designer took turns greeting his adoring guests. “Thank you for making us all look so beautiful,” said one Dolce-clad attendee.
Just as the party reached pique attendance, Kliger welcomed his many well-dressed guests. “We celebrate tonight our longstanding relationship with Dolce and Gabbana, which we’re very proud of and we’re also celebrating the upcoming launch and fantastic capsule collection,” he said. “We are honored and privileged to welcome tonight, Domenico, Alfonso, and members of the team,” ended his remarks, this time in perfect Italian, “thank you everyone, and have a fabulous evening!”
And with that, everyone did. Upon exit, there was one last surprise from Mytheresa, a little goodie bag filled with a lemon-printed Dolce silk scarf. Sometimes when life gives you lemons, it can be really quite chic.
