I’m Obsessed With These Chic Men’s Blouses at Cannes
This morning, the cast of Pedro Almodóvar’s Strange Way of Life attended a photocall at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The Spanish director’s new short western film co-stars Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal as a lawman and cowboy looking back on a passionate affair. But it’s the project’s supporting cast that I want to talk about.
Manu Rios, Jason Fernandez, José Condessa, and George Steane completely stole the show. At least, they did with their unexpected fashion choices: The four men showed up in sync, wearing the chicest little blouses by Saint Laurent. What a treat.
The actor’s modern tops were much more romantic and billowy in feel. Not to mention hot, thanks to the flashes of exposed skin via sleeveless silhouettes or extremely deep-V necklines. Rios, for one, wore a white wrap top with a silver choker, while Condessa sported an ab-baring shirt in black, punctuated by a gold pendant necklace. Fernandez, meanwhile, opted for a silky sleeveless top with a pussybow neckline. Steane was the most classic of the group—he rocked a classic, slim-fit black button—but he was still all so perfectly cohesive with the rest of the crew. Individually, they shined, but they also blended into one in a good way—thanks to their high-waisted black trousers and shiny patent shoes.
Considering Cannes is known for its timeless, glamorous fashion aesthetic, we’re bound to see loads of classic tuxedos or suits from men this week—but these four stars’s sexier approach to red carpet style was totally refreshing, not to mention wholly unexpected. Talking about starting off Cannes with a bang.
