ICC WWC 2022 final: Alyssa Healy scores century, husband Mitchell Starc cheers for her

Alyssa Healy and Mitchell Starc are one of those rare couples who each represent Australia for the Women’s and Men’s team respectively. On various occasions, the pair have given cricket fans major couple goals and a similar incident happened on Sunday when Healy scored a century and her hubby was seen cheering for her.

Australia Women’s team faced off against England in the final of ICC Women’s World Cup 2022, and Healy grabbed headlines for her stunning knock of 170 off 138 balls.

One of the heavy favourites to clinch the World Cup, Australia were asked to bat first, after defending champs England had won the toss. Alyssa Healy came out to open the innings alongside Rachael Haynes, and the pair of them put up a 160-run opening stand before Haynes (68 off 93) was dismissed by Sophie Ecclestone.

Healy though continued her assault on the England bowlers and would go on to achieve her century after which the cameras caught her husband Mitchell Starc sitting in the stands, applauding his wife.

Netizens couldn’t help but stop themselves from gushing at the couple. Moreover, the pictures of Starc applauding her wife’s effort is now going crazy viral on social media.

Undoubtedly, it would have been an emotional moment for the Australian pair but Healy would go on to achieve more glory as she scored a half-century as well, before being dismissed at 170, by Anya Shrubsole.
