ICC World 2023: The schedule for ICC World Cup 2023 which will be held in India is likely to be announced today. It will be the first time that India will hold the prestigious ODI World Cup 2023 on its own.
A copy of a media invite of the occasion is doing rounds on social media. As per the media invite, the event will be held at Astor Ballroom, St. Regis, Lower Parel in Mumbai.
Reportedly, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had already sent a draft schedule to the participating nations in early June, outlining the proposed fixtures and venues for the tournament.
The delay in announcing the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule is due to many technical factors, especially a bone of contention between India and Pakistan. There is still uncertainty over Pakistan’s participation in the cricket world cup. Last month, ICC chairman Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice travelled to Pakistan to convince PCB Chief to send his players to India for the upcoming World Cup.
ICC started the World Cup trophy on Monday by sending the prestigious trophy 1,20,000 feet above the Earth before landing it at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This remarkable feat was achieved by attaching the trophy to a stratospheric balloon. The top cricketing body also shared images of the ODI World Cup trophy at the edge of Earth’s atmosphere.
The 2023 Trophy tour will be the biggest one so far and will allow fans from different cities in the world to connect with the prestigious silverware. The trophy will travel to 18 countries including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, USA, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, the United States of America and India.

ICC CEO Geoff Allardice, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag and former Sri Lankan great Muthiah Muralidaran will announce the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule in Mumbai at 12 pm. There will also be a live conversation between the legends after the announcement of the schedule.
