‘I know I’m ready!’: Ryan Mason throws his hat into the ring to be Tottenham’s new PERMANENT manager… but insists he’s fully focused on beating Man United as his second spell as interim boss begins
Ryan Mason wants to become Tottenham’s full-time manager after being appointed as the interim boss following the sacking of Cristian Stellini.
The former midfielder was appointed interim manager of Spurs in the wake of Stellini’s sacking following a 6-1 humbling at Newcastle.
As a result, Mason took over in an interim capacity – having previously done so after Jose Mourinho was relieved of his duties in 2021.
However, Mason made it clear at Tottenham’s pre-match press conference on Wednesday afternoon that he wanted to secure the role on a permanent basis.
Mason told reports ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Manchester United: ‘Honestly for me I feel ready. I know I am ready.

‘If that situation happens, it means we’ve done a good job. That is fast forwarding six weeks time. My immediate focus is Thursday.’
However, he insisted the most important thing was focusing on the job in hand and beating the Red Devils.
The interim manager said: ‘The most important thing is getting energy and positivity back into the group and fan as well.
‘We have to be realistic ahead of three training sessions before two games, hard to change a big deal but I would hope before the end of season people would see my stamp on the group.’
