Hunza G and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Just Created the Minimalist Swimsuit Collection of Our Dreams
One quick swipe down Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Instagram page and it’s clear that the 36-year-old model and business mogul is unyieldingly faithful to her less-is-more approach to getting dressed. That same loyalty overflows into the roster of brands in her closet. For nearly five summers in a row, Hunza G swimsuits have been Huntington-Whiteley’s consistent go-to for days at the beach. And today, her beauty line Rose Inc and Hunza G are joining forces to adorn our swimsuit collection with a medley of neutral and calming blush-tone adjustable bikinis and scoop neck one-pieces.
“I came across the brand back in 2018,” Huntington-Whiteley exclusively tells Vogue. “And I was instantly impressed by this beautifully stretched crinkle fabric.” If you’re not familiar with the label, which also counts Rihanna, Jessica Alba, and Hailey Bieber on its ever-growing roster of celebrity fans, the London-based brand specializes in sculpting swimwear made from a signature seersucker fabric.
Hunza G has been around since the ’80s (Yes, that iconic dress worn by Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman is a Hunza G original), but the focus on universally flattering swimsuits started about 30 years ago, thanks to creative director Georgiana Huddart. “It’s a brand that’s meant to go on a journey with your body,” Huddart explains. Huntington-Whiteley wore Hunza G before her pregnancy, during, and after. “We always try to make sure there’s something for everyone,” Huddart goes on to elaborate. “Most fabrics have seams down the sides, so they don’t have this sucking-in power that the [our] crinkle [material] has.” The fabric in Hunza G’s swimsuits is produced on a circular loom, which makes each swimsuit extremely malleable. That means you can pull and tug it as much as you’d like without worrying that it will lose its shape.
“I think another thing the team does so well is staying true to a small number of styles and cuts, but introducing really iconic colors every season,” Huntington-Whiteley adds. In the Rosie Inc. x Hunza G collaboration, you’ll, of course, find a creamy neutral hue, but there’s also a deep rosewood and coral shade, which were inspired by blushes from Huntington-Whiteley’s cosmetic line. “I’m predominantly known over the last couple of years for my love of neutrals,” says Huntington-Whiteley. “But when it comes to swimwear and summer, I like a pop of color. I feel that’s where I can be a bit more adventurous and playful.”
The entire collection will be available to shop on Hunza G and Net-a-Porter, well, that’s until it inevitably sells out.
