Hunter Schafer Is Bringing Back a 2000s It-Bag

The Prada fall 2023 show in Milan today was (as usual) a star-studded affair. Dua Lipa, Sienna Miller, and Emma Roberts all sat in the front row, while Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner walked the catwalk. Euphoria star Hunter Schafer was also a VIP guest, and she brought a particularly chic ensemble for the occasion. Schafer sported a limoncello coat from the Italian label’s spring 2023 collection, complete with a Peter Pan collar and oversized buttons. Since it was such a great statement coat, she didn’t need much else in terms of accessories—aside from a pair of matching chunky Mary Janes. Her unexpected choice of bag, however, is the real focal point.

To add contrast to her eye-popping outerwear, Schafer chose a neutral brown bag to complete the look. The leather, top-handle style is called the padded Moon bag, and it’s a re-edition of a silhouette that Prada released back in the 2000s. The mini style retails for $2,950 and features metal hardware and Prada’s signature triangular plaque logo (it also comes in a ton of different colorways).

It’s no secret that Y2K style is back in fashion right now, and a crop of handbags from the era have resurfaced as a result, such as the famous Takashi Murakami x Louis Vuitton bags. Bella Hadid also recently wore Prada’s Militare Tessuto Active Nylon Shoulder Bag from spring 2004. But given Schafer’s bag is a re-edition, it feels especially fresh and current. It’s pretty sleek, meaning you could wear it for the years to come without it won’t feel like a bygone fad. Plus, it’s celebrity and front row-approved.
