Hungry Jacks’ massive vaccination incentive

The fast food giant has partnered with Deliveroo to give away a popular menu item to customers once we hit a vaccine milestone.

There are many benefits to being vaccinated against coronavirus, not least the fact that it gives you protection from a deadly disease that’s killed more than 4.55 million people worldwide to date.

You get a cool selfie of your jabbed arm to share on Instagram and if you’re in Melbourne or Sydney, you can finally meet your friends for a picnic.

But Deliveroo wants to sweeten the double-jabbed feeling even further, offering a tasty vaccination incentive for states.

In partnership with Hungry Jack’s the food delivery service is offering its customers a free large fries with their orders the weekend after their state reaches its 60 per cent double jabbed milestone.

Deliveroo’s head of consumer communications Joe Satari said the food delivery service recognised that a “successful vaccination rollout is crucial to get us back doing all the things we love”.

“We started this process to find a vaccination incentive for everyone along the journey to freedom,” he said in a statement.

“With the legends at Hungry Jack’s and heaps of local favourites we will show our gratitude with a tasty reward for all the Aussies out there, keeping each other, and those in our community, safe.

“We can’t wait to see which state is next to stride over that 60 per cent line.”

The deal will be available when you order from Hungry Jack’s or other participating restaurants the Friday, Saturday or Sunday following the 60 per cent number being reached.

“With Deliveroo we have put into place a fun incentive to celebrate the progress everyone is making in getting the nation double vaxxed,” Hungry Jack’s chief marketing officer Scott Baird said.

“The success of the vaccine rollout is something that is very close to all our hearts.

“We know Aussies love our fries and every little bit of encouragement helps when it comes to hitting the vaccination rates.”

Currently leading the race to 60 per cent is the Australian Capital Territory, which has more than 55 per cent of its residents fully vaccinated against Covid.

Coming in second is NSW with over 52 per cent followed by Tasmania at 51.9 per cent.

The vaccine incentive will be available in all states except the Northern Territory which does not have Deliveroo.

Deliveroo joins other big companies like Qantas and Telstra, who are offering incentives to fully vaccinated customers.

Qantas is giving double-jabbed Australian frequent flyers over the age of 18 a special reward through the Qantas app – a choice of 1000 Qantas points, 15 status credits, or a $20 flight discount for Qantas or Jetstar.

In addition, members will be automatically entered into a mega prize draw, where 10 winners will receive a year’s worth of flights, accommodation and fuel, including international destinations when the borders open.

At Telstra, from late September fully vaccinated members of the company’s loyalty program will receive 2500 Telstra Plus Points, then go into a 100 million point prize draw.

Twenty people would receive five million points each and up to $3500 credit – enough to cover the cost of their eligible Telstra services for a year.
