Huma Qureshi kisses Guneet Monga’s Oscar and dedicates it to Aaram Nagar, while the latter celebrates with husband Sunny Kapoor – See inside – Times of India

It was indeed a historic moment as India won two Oscars this year. While ‘RRR’ song ‘Naatu Naatu’ won in the ‘Best Original Song’ category, ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ got an Oscar in the ‘Best Documentary Short Film’ category. Producer Guneet Monga and director Kartiki Gonsalves receieved the award for ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ and made India proud as this is the first Oscar for an Indian production.
Now that they’re back to Mumbai, Huma Qureshi held the Oscar in her hand and kissed it. She dedicated it to Aram Nagar. The actress wrote, “My first producer (Gangs of Wasseypur) , friend, almost flatmate ( that’s how my name is still saved on her phone) @guneetmonga!! I’m so proud of you .. thank you for showing us how it’s done .. you are an inspiration girl!! Living her best life, winning an Oscar for India on her 3 month anniversary.. stuff fairytales are made of. I’ve seen your hustle, your passion, your drive and just sticking it out in an all boys club. All I can say is …. that this is just the beginning ???????? Oh and thank you for letting me touch and record these ridiculous videos with ‘Goldie’ … now I’m just going to have to get my own so we can pose together ????❤️????#love #morepowertoyou #proud #inspired”

Guneet had double celebrations – the Oscar and her third month anniversary. In a video, the producer dedicated her award to 1.4 billion Indians and added we’ve all manifested this together. She further added, “I just want to say to all the women watching this that the future is audacious, the future is us and the future is here! Jai Hind.”
