Hrithik Roshan to return as Kabir in War 2, Siddharth Anand may not direct the film: Report – Times of India

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has laid the foundation stone of the Aditya Chopra’s spy universe by featuring an explosive cameo of Salman Khan as Tiger, the role he played in his previous spy movies Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai. The Siddharth Anand directorial also had references of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War in between. And it looks like Hrithik is all set to return as Major Kabir in War 2.
According to a report in an entertainment portal, Aditya Chopra and Shridhar Raghavan have already finished the scripting of War 2 and the film will soon on the floor by the end of this year. It further states that the script of War 2 has been written in such a way that it will have major connections with the previous spy films.

However, it is uncertain whether the movie will feature Kabir’s backstory or bring back Jim, played by John Abraham in Pathaan. It is also being said that the film might also be set in a completely new setting. It is also being said that Siddharth may or may not return to direct the film.

Meanwhile, the YRF spy universe will continue its crossovers in Salman and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3, which will feature Emraan Hashmi as the baddie. The movie will feature an extended cameo of Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan.

Hrithik and Deepika Padukone had recently flown to Kashmir to shoot for their upcoming film Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand. On his birthday, Hrithik had talked about the film during his live interaction with fans.

“We are shooting with real fighter jets. We just shot in a Sukhoi. It has been so inspiring just being around the Indian Air Force. There is so much to learn from their body language, decorum, the discipline, their courage and intelligence. I am very glad that I got to experience that myself,” he had said.
