When faced with a humanitarian crisis on the level of what’s happening in Ukraine, it can be difficult to know what to do. Many of us have retreated into posting incessantly about the complex geopolitical situation precisely because we aren’t sure how we can best be of service. But, luckily, some public figures are setting an example by pledging concrete resources to help Ukrainian refugees and those still on the ground trying to fend off the Russian invasion.
Below, find a list of celebrities—including Ashton Kitcher and Mila Kunis, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, and Gigi Hadid—who have committed to helping ease the suffering of Ukrainians.

As of Friday, this actor couple had raised over $6.8 million for Ukraine through the GoFundMe page they set live on Friday, aiming to raise $30 million dollars and pledging to match up to $3 million dollars with their own money. “Today, I am a proud Ukrainian,” Kunis wrote on the GoFundMe page. “While my family came to the United States in 1991, I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983. Ukrainians are proud and brave people who deserve our help in their time of need.”

Lively and Reynolds have pledged to match donations to Ukraine up to $1 million dollars, with Reynolds writing on Twitter, “In 48 hours, countless Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes to neighboring countries. They need protection.”
Gigi Hadid
On Monday, the model—who has long been an outspoken critic of the occupation of Palestine—pledged to donate her earnings from the current fall 2022 runway shows “to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.” She added, “Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice. May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion.”
Bethenny Frankel
The Real Housewives of New York City star’s philanthropic initiative BStrong has raised millions for Ukrainian refugees, with Frankel telling The Cut, “BStrong and our partner Global Empowerment Mission are in Poland on the border, where people are crossing. We have 100,000 crisis kits coming in, which are survival kits for refugees. But in addition to the survival kits, we need to help people to rebuild, so money people donate will go towards cash cards, which help people rebuild their lives.”
