How did Blues star Josh Addo-Carr anger Queensland Origin fans with a very cheeky act?

NSW winger Josh Addo-Carr fired up the passionate Queensland crowd with a very cheeky act on Wednesday night – and given the Blues were outclassed 32-6, his gesture could best be described as bizarre.

Addo-Carr, 27, was spotted pointing to the logo on his NSW jersey moments after he was sin-binned by referee Ashley Klein for punching Maroons fullback Reece Walsh in the dying moments of the match.

The act was eye-opening considering how badly his team was just about to be beaten.  

Blues five-eighth Jarome Luai and Walsh were both sent off for headbutting one another moments later, with the Queensland fullback revving up the crowd up on his way from the field.

The young gun proudly showed off the Queensland badge on his jersey to supporters, earning instant cult hero status as the hosts sealed the Origin series with a commanding performance.

Walsh was earlier seen gesturing at the Blues players to ‘keep talking’ and he also waved goodbye to Addo-Carr, with Luai blowing kisses to the crowd as he walked off the field.

Making his series debut this year, Walsh has been keen to stoke up the rivalry with NSW and angered Blues fans with his antics after Queensland’s Game I win in Adelaide.

He gestured for Blues players to ‘shush’ and later savaged them for ‘thinking they own rugby league’.

‘They were always going to come [for me],’ he said after Game I. 

‘They think they are better than everyone down there in blue. They think they own the game.’

Walsh had the last laugh at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, with the crowd of 52,433 in raptures as Billy Slater’s men were clinical from start to finish.

The Blues lost centre Tom Trbojevic with a pec injury in the third minute – and then butchered a series of half chances in the first half as they looked to square the series.

It was in stark contrast to the Maroons, who never looked like losing.  

Valentine Holmes finished with two tries to his name, with Murray Taulagi, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Xavier Coates and Jeremiah Nanai also crossing the stripe.

And following the blowout, Luai insulted his own fans with an arrogant Instagram story.

He posted: ‘Chill, All you idiots have work tomorrow morning’ accompanied by several tears of joy emojis as he sat against one of the goal posts on Suncorp Stadium – the story has since been widely condemned by furious footy fans.
