A lack of movement on a trade for Aaron Rodgers should not be cause for concern as Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari says the quarterback will move to the New York Jets eventually.

Even though it’s been weeks since Rodgers told Pat McAfee that he wanted to get traded to Gang Green, no trade has been realized as of yet.

There have been guarantees from Jets general manager Joe Douglas, but still the time has passed and Rodgers is no closer to buying real estate near Florham Park.

Bakhtiari, who has protected Rodgers in Green Bay for years, says the quarterback will likely end up with the Jets eventually.

‘I think that has probably been put to rest,’ Bakhtiari said, according to CBS Sports.

‘Could the Packers be really good? Yeah, I certainly hope so and would love that, but also I would be ignorant to not say that this looks like a rebuild.

‘I think the most simple thing is they’ll [the Packers] get whatever picks they wanted, they’ll get it before the draft, and then time will show us. He’s going to be a Jet.’

Bakhtiari has been with the Packers since 2013 after getting drafted out of Colorado – earning two first-team All-Pro selections, three second-team All-Pro selections, and three Pro-Bowl selections.

During the podcast, Bakhtiari let is slip that the Packers are comfortable with moving on from Rodgers regardless of whether or not a deal is done because the team is ready to start a rebuilding process.

‘The Packers are rebuilding whether you think so or not,’ Bakhtiari said. ‘[People will say] “Could they be good, I don’t know.” More people are going to think [the Packers are] going to be more bad than good, right?

‘That’s fair to say. Then, [the Packers] will say “We’re going to suck anyways, we want what we want, and we’re not going to bend to anyone, so we’ll just eat [Aaron Rodgers’ contract]. Stay unretired, we’ll pay you.

‘”We don’t care because if we’re going to do it our way, it’s going to be on our terms. If not, what we’re going to be Super Bowl contenders anyways? We’ll eat it, [Rodgers] can hang on the side, pay you your money, we’ll suck anyways, and get [better draft] picks.”‘
