Here’s how University Of California, Berkeley honours rapper Nicki Mina
The information appeared on Twitter by the Professor in charge of the course- Peace and Love El Henson.
What will the course offer?
As per the University’s academic guide, the title of the new course is “Nicki Minaj: The Black Barbie Femmecee & Hip Hop Feminisms; it will be structured on 90-minute lecture modules on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Professor in charge, a post-doctoral fellow on Black studies, hopes the new course will stimulate critical thinking about Nicki’s productions. In addition, it will encourage the students to understand the broader perspectives of the historical/social structures of hip-hop feminism. Further details of the course will be available once it is finalized.
The Rapper is excited
Nicki Minaj was happy to learn about the course and showed her interest in dropping in for a class lecture! Further, she re-tweeted a Twitter user’s clip that is mentioning about the class rules at Berkeley University in a lighter vein.
Will the new concept in course planning induce others to start similar personality focussed study courses? Only time will tell.
