Hema Malini recalls her harrowing experience with a director: He wanted me to unpin my saree’s pallu and let it slide down | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Veteran actress Hema Malini recently recalled her harrowing experience on the film set where her director had asked her to unpin her saree’s pallu since he wanted it to slide down.
Looking visibly upset, Hema told Lehren, “He wanted to shoot some kind of a scene. I always put a pin on my saree. I said, ‘Saree niche gir jayegi’ (the loose end will slide down). They said that’s what we want.”
She then mentioned that the new generation filmmakers don’t make efforts to make their actors look good on the screen. She doesn’t want to work in a film again because she feels filming has become more challenging now.
In the same interview, Hema also revealed that Satyam Shivam Sundaram was first offered to her by Raj Kapoor despite being aware of the fact that she won’t do such a film.

Recalling the moment, Hema said, “He said this is such a film, you will not do it but I am keen that you do it.” Hema’s mother was sitting beside while she was having this conversation with Raj Kapoor. Her mother nodded her head in dismissal indicating that Hema won’t do this film.
Recently, veteran actor Dharmendra had penned a note for wife Hema Malini, daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, saying that his advanced age and ill health prevents him from personally telling them about the love and respect he has for them.
Hours later, Esha posted a photo from her 2012 wedding to Bharat Takhtani. In the framed photo, she was accompanied by Dharmendra, Malini and her husband.
Dharmendra’s post had come days after the marriage of Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol to longtime girlfriend Drisha Acharya. Hema, who is Dharmendra’s second wife, and her daughters were absent from the wedding festivities.
