‘HE DID IT AGAIN’: Hockey world amazed by yet another late Matthew Tkachuk goal

If Matthew Tkachuk and late-game heroics weren’t already a common theme this Stanley Cup Playoffs, they certainly are now.

Tkachuk’s Game 4 goal with just under five seconds remaining in the third period not only tied the NHL record for the latest series-winning goal in regulation in playoff history, but it also booked the Panthers a spot in the Stanley Cup Final after a series sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes.

It was the third time in this series that Tkachuk has scored the game-winner. His previous two both came in overtime, including the winner in a four-overtime thriller in Game 1.

Tkachuk now has nine goals and 12 assists in 16 games for the Panthers in these playoffs.

If it wasn’t for the incredible play of his goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, he’d almost certainly be a shoe-in for the Conn Smythe trophy if the Panthers bring home Lord Stanley.

Here are some of the best reactions to Tkachuk’s goal in the dying seconds from around the hockey world:
