Has Ranveer Singh replaced Vicky Kaushal in ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’? Deets Inside – Times of India

Years after Vicky Kaushal was announced as the leading man for the ambitious film ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’, new reports claim that another hunk may just be stepping in to play the part.
Reports doing the rounds claim that Vicky will no longer play the mythological hero in the film that was shelved allegedly due to budget and financial issues. His exit has made way for Ranveer Singh to be the top pic to play Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya, who was cursed with immortality.

Director Aditya Dhar is said to be in advance talks with Singh to get this project on floors later this year. As the film is a huge theatrical project and promises a larger-than-life character, Ranveer was reportedly not too keen to pass on the role. While it is claimed that the actor has given his nod to the project, he is still to sign the dotted line.
While the film faced problems finding a production house to back the film’s huge budget, new reports state that Jio Studios has stepped in to greenlight the sci-fi superhero film.

Besides this, Ranveer was previously rumoured to be playing the lead in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra Part 2: Dev’. Unconfirmed reports claimed that the actor was tapped to play a prominent role in the film that would also feature Deepika Padukone.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer is currently awaiting the release of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ which will see him reuniting on-screen with Alia Bhatt. The film helmed by Karan Johar also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.
